At Frame Architecture, Inc., we’re passionate about architectural projects that go beyond modern design and functionality. One of our most rewarding focuses is historical renovation, blending creativity, technical expertise, and a deep respect for heritage.
Two of our recent projects—the renovation of the Bank Saloon in Carson City and the conversion of The Armory, a historic State of Nevada building, into modern office space—illustrate the care and craftsmanship that go into revitalizing historic spaces. The Bank Saloon, originally built in the 1890s, required a design approach that respected its rustic charm while adding modern amenities for safety and functionality. By carefully restoring original features such as brickwork and vintage fixtures, we preserved the saloon’s authentic ambiance while ensuring it could function as a vibrant gathering space for the community. Similarly, The Armory project exemplifies the balance of honoring historical significance while adapting to current needs. Built in the early 20th century, The Armory’s conversion into offices requires creative space planning and careful preservation of original architectural elements like woodwork, masonry and windows, transforming it into a productive workspace that still holds its historical character.
By transforming aging buildings while preserving their historical character, we’re helping to keep the unique stories and architectural gems of our cities alive. These renovations aren’t just about updating structures; they are about weaving the past into the present and safeguarding history for generations to come.
