CLICKBOND LOBBY RENOVATION

The existing building originally constructed in 1984 with precast concrete and steel, contains the engineering department for Click Bond; an airplane fastener parts manufacturer based at the Carson City Airport. The building is also the receiving point for their clients and Click Bond needed to present a modern image. We took a design cue from air traffic control towers and designed the renovation to remove a center section of the structure and create a new two story slanted wall steel and glass structure with exposed concrete finish walls. The space produced gives Click Bond a new entry lobby and mezzanine conference space with great daylighting and views of the Sierra foothills to the west. The concrete and steel exterior is exposed on the interior along with a curved and cantilevered stair with stainless steel rails.

The project included new systems furniture for the engineering and prototyping departments and a new ground source heat pump HVAC system.
